Crystal Soil is a revolutionary new and unique water conserving product for plants and cut flowers. The beads are being used in beautiful style by homeowners, interior designers and large companies alike. Crystal Soil changes water into colorful shining beads, that resemble crystal balls in a clear glass container.
Simply put the small packet of beads into water. The Crystal Soil will expand, and you pour off the excess water. Put the remaining beads into a clear glass or plastic vase or bowl and insert your plant, fresh flowers or artificial flowers. For added beauty many people add a submersible light to really make the beads sparkle. This amazing new product combines environmental protection and beauty.
Crystal Soil comes in eleven colorsto match your event theme and design ideas. They can be reused and washed and they’re non-toxic with no odor.
One small packet of 10 grams of beads will produce about 500 grams of beads once they are hydrated. Soak overnight to a ratio of one vial of beads to 50 parts water. You can add more water or pour out any extra water when the beads expand. They can also be used to water potted/garden plants and flowers. This product is non-polluting and will not fade. It is reusable as long as you add water to rehydrate the water beads (approximately every 7-9 weeks). Of course, this product is not edible and should be kept away from small children.
Crystal Soil Uses
Crystal Soil can be used as a decoration for birthdays, baby/bridal showers, graduations, anniversaries, baptisms, weddings, etc.
Additional uses: handicrafts and home decorations, growing plants on vertical structures, bare root treatment and storage, growing plants without soil, feed lot clean-up, water absorption from gasoline/diesel fuel tanks (the Water Beads will not absorb petroleum products; only the water), and dust abatement in construction and mining.
Crystal Soil Qualities
Don’t be confused by lower price and less quality. There are three qualities of Crystal Soil.
Beads absorb water but do not leach it out. They remain rubbery and have no benefit to plants.
Beads absorb water and leach it out. They are not colorfast and dye the water to color it. When removed form water, they appear clear. The dyed water will stain counters, rugs, grout, tablecloths, ..etc.
Top quality beads are colorfast throughout. They readily absorb water and leach it out to plants. They are non-toxic and reusable. Simply rehydrate when they begin to shrink.
This post is part outrage, part guilt and part apology to the planet. For some time now we have been selling Crystal Soil in polystyrene and polyproylene test tubes. Literally thousands upon thousands of them. Why? Sure they look cool and all, but our carbon footprint has to be the size of the abominable snowman and that’s just what we’ve been guilty of; an abomination. Shockingly, some continue to use these tubes.
Our customers were impressed with the tidy little packaging in the slick little plastic tubes. Then they went home, hydrated their Crystal Soil and then threw the tubes into the garbage only to have them clutter our landfills in crystalline test tube heaps. It was fun while it lasted.
So, we at crystalsoil.net are making the switch to a small recyclable ziplock baggie for our customers’ packaging needs. We have a green product in Crystal Soil and now we have as green a package as we can offer while still delivering a fresh and dry product.
As a note to our dealers: If you wish to continue using the test tube presentation, you can order them directly from: Polystyrene Test Tubes
A competing dealer has contacted our company with unproven claims of patent applications and insisted that we discontinue the use of the polystyrene packaging. Gladly! We make this switch not on their behalf, but rather for the good of all concerned; our dealers, our customers, our planet. We are not in the business of telling others how to behave. We can only set an example through our own actions.

Polymer crystals, otherwise known as Crystal Soil, is one of those special items that are almost magical. Polymer Crystal Soil gels in a way very similar to a gelatin dessert. One of their major uses is by the disposable diaper manufacturers, where they are referred to as super absorbent polymers. The polymers allow for thinner and lighter disposable diapers. But that is not where their uses stop. Crystal Soil comes in a beautiful array of colors and sizes. They are great for distributing a controlled release of water to cut flowers, orchids or even outdoor gardens.
Add water to the white crystalline flakes or spheres of Crystal Soil and they absorb many times their size in the polymeric gel that forms. One pound of the Crystal Soil crystals holds about 50 gallons of water! The gel that forms swells by absorbing 30 grams of water for each gram of the water crystals. Florists also use water beads as a dirt-free way to store water and to keep cut flowers fresh for a long time.
Construction workers, bicyclists and motorcyclists may be seen wearing cloth headbands or wearing a cloth collar around their neck. The crystals are sewn into a pouch in the cloth. The cloth item is then soaked in water for several hours. A tiny handful will swell up to many times it size and provide moist evaporative cooling for the wearer.
It takes about 45 minutes to hydrate the typical headband or collar but the larger decorative Crystal Soil will take up to six hours. time. The same polymer beads can be rehydrated many times.
Other uses of the Crystal Soil:
•water and sewerage treatment plants use it to trap and suspend solid particles to make the solids easier to remove
•soil conditioning
•ore processing
•paper and textile plants
•manufacturing of dyes, adhesives and permanent press fabrics
Perhaps though the colorful beads are best used in displays of beauty inside the home. There are submersible light kits available to create a stunning evening display. Order your Crystal Soil Here!
Crystal Soil brings in beauty and performance to your floral and craft arrangements. They are made of a polymer that soaks up, stores, and releases water, which in turn can make them perfect for fresh-cut flowers and developing plants.
The beads start looking similar to glass decorative marbles (drops). Precisely how is Crystal Soil different? Crystal Soil is much lighter in weight than glass marbles. Furthermore, Crystal Soil can be used as an interesting soil alternative for growing plants, as well as a water supply for plants and fresh-cut flowers. Crystal Soil is a perfect base for arranging fresh-cut flowers simply because our special liquid beads are soft, flexible and will not damage the stems throughout positioning. In addition, the beads are colorfast and have a fantastic, bright visual appeal (polymer has the light-collecting refractive quality of crystal).
